“War” was one of the biggest protest songs of all time. “War” changed the conservative face of Motown and unionized Americans through the Vietnam War. Edwin Star’s rendition made the song became a universal anthem of protest.
I'm a big fan of funk music and this is one of the best Motown songs ever. I saw some of the remakes, and I wonder if credit was given to Motown, seeing how many white rock bands have plagiarized black music and sold it tremendously. The essay had a lot of supporting quotes and the narrative and the tone were good. Obviously you can right a good essay. However, I still had that "so what" question in my mind. I think your thesis could have been stronger, and I'm still not sure why Motown went political so fast. Context could be added to your artifact.
